Winterhaven take 4

Here is probably the final Winterhaven map. If you look closely, that's Valthrun smoking a pipe on his porch.

That is just freaking cool.

I really love that you keyed it. I have to use it now.

That map is amazing. I wish I hadn't finished running Keep on the Shadowfell with my group... I could've used this!

Thanks Dar!

@Jason, yeah, that's what happened to our group too. I gotta get faster!

Very cool! We're in the keep now, but we HAVE to go back to town if only to use this groovy map. Jonas lives, by the way, despite his run-in with a gelatinous cube.

Dubble, you may see a familiar form or two in the lower right.

Awesome map. I'm going to be using it for my campaign.

Thanks Roger! You have no idea how flattering that is! =)

Amazing! I can't wait to get my players to Winterhaven.

This is amazing! The style is just really great, plus the added detail really draws you into the town as opposed to the straight overhead view from the book.

Hey thanks Sluga! I'm trying to make the maps I'd like to see.

Thanks Nyenyec! I was afraid everyone had left Winterhaven behind long ago.

This... is awesome. The style reminds me of Albert Uderzo (draws Asterix) for some reason.

"Asterix and Obelix go to The Dungeon" - soon in an RPG store near you?

(Captcha: forepen. I don't want to know...)

Anders: You got me! As I mentioned somewhere else, I usually have Asterix open at my elbow when drawing this stuff. The blacksmith in particular is a ripoff of one of the Gaulish buildings.

thanks for visiting!

Just SUPER NICE!!!! I will print this thing out for my adventure instead of using the book one! And I'll give the link to your site to my players! Thanks for the art work!

I just stumbled across this Googling for pics of Winterhaven. It's just stunning, as is all of your work.

I'm currently building Winterhaven as a video-game quality model and I'm now going to drop everything I've done and use this map as a base. I agree entirely that for such a small, rudimentary outpost, it seemed to be more wall than village. The plan in the module didn't seem to quite truck with the description either.

I really wish my GM had had this picture when we were playing. Winterhaven in our game came across as a lifeless and unremarkable group of buildings that we passed through on our way to the goblins. Your version makes me want to stay in the village and explore and meet folk. It's wonderful. I agree that it reminds me very much of Asterix and that's a very, very good thing.

I'm liking your other Nentir maps and buildings too.

I used this map recently in my D&D campaign for the Keep of the Shadowfell and the players loved it! Thanks for making it again.

As always I am 2 years late to the party, but I just wanted to thank you for drawing this picture. I am using it in my next campaign and can't wait to show it to my players. Honestly without this picture I don't think hanging out in town would be half as interesting!

Brilliant. I've dropped a link to this (and your other two Winterhaven pictures) over at the Nentir Vale forum at The Piazza in a thread about Winterhaven:

I'll have to look around the rest of your blog, to see if you have any other Nentir Vale maps or art, I can point fans at.
